The “Hug” Chair is a concept design result of a long development and iterations reflecting on the act of sitting and ultimately, taking the chair’s perspective on it. In a similar attitude to our “Popcorn” chair, this design welcomes you and is weirdly happy you are sitting on it. This time though, as a conversation and not as a monologue: the act of hugging requires reciprocation.
Once again, Kilzi’s furniture attempts to bring life and sensibility to historically inert pieces with a silent roll in the human life. They feed from the ideas of Shinto and animism as well as personal experiences as a kid where objects and art played s huge roll in their companionship in a moving environment.
Each chair may vary slightly in size, due to the fact that it is a handmade product.

Use a soft cloth slightly dampened with water and mild soap, then dry immediately. Avoid abrasive products, excess water, and direct sunlight or heat. To maintain its shine, occasionally apply a polish suitable for lacquered wood.
